Save the Skymaster is calling out to veterans in the North Weald, Essex area to come and experience a life-changing experience. We are offering an introduction to Aviation engineering with direct access to a Skymaster – a workhorse that dates back to 1945! She is the only Skymaster in the UK and the last to fly in Europe. To work and learn on this legend of an aircraft is truly a unique experience!
PTSD Resolution will be giving two sessions. First of all, understanding exactly what PTSD is and then PTSD recovery with the steps involved. A book on this topic will be given to each veteran. Besides this, Aerobility are offering a special flight as a prize for a veteran on the course – with a GoPro filming it! And Academy Aviation are offering a training flight for an hour -more of an incentive to sign on soon!
A representative from Barclays will talk about the Veteran Employment Transition Service ( VETS) which effectively allows veterans to connect with mentors from business, attend ready-to-work initiatives, and apply for veteran targeted jobs. They will look at CV writing as well as interview coaching with a range of supporting veteran’s transition to civilian employment.
The course promises to be informative and inspiring at the same time – culminating in an open day when engines are started. One lucky veteran will win the prize of being in the cockpit when Skymaster’s engines come alive. Above all, the comradeship the Skymaster family can offer will put an end to loneliness and isolation long after the end of the course.
Special thanks to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund and The Veterans Foundation for making this course a reality. For all interested in signing up please contact Mark Borg at 07704 261904 [email protected] or [email protected] or 033 011 39627
